Danny Jones, Terry Butcher, Steve Sheetz and Scott Hickman came out in the late afternoon to get ready for the K of C scramble Sunday morning.

Another late afternoon group, two couples, here teeing off on #8.

Tyler Kidwell and Jack Nickless Make it Two Weeks in a Row

Tyler Kidwell and Jack Nickless traded in young Jeff Doyle for senior George Templin and managed to win the Saturday Scramble at Lakeview for the second week in a row. The threesome scored a thirty for the nine hole game on a windy, sunny and warm day at Boggs Lake. Three teams tied for second at 32: Terry Butcher, Jr Byron and Bric Parker for one; Mike Kidwell, Mike Bird and Lee Wininger for a second; and Trenton Kidwell, Tyler Walton and Joe Allen for a third. Dave Wininger, Jeff Doyle and Karry Stoll came in after eight holes with a score of 33. Steven Downey, Wayne Souerdike and Kevin Byron struggled and came in dead even at thirty-five.

Sand shot and body english

Joe Potts splashes one out of the sandtrap and onto the green at #9 yesterday afternoon.

Joe's playing partners included brother Greg, and Tracy and Cory Rayhill, three playing a Tuesday Men's League round. Here Cory, subbing for Mike Albertson, uses just enough body english to get the ball to fall into the hole for a round of 39. That gave him a one stroke advantage on both dad, Tracy (who groaned when the ball fell into the cup), and Greg, each of whom finished with 40's.

Senior Moments

Denny Wagoner not too happy with his shot at #7 which found the water to the left.

Joe Gray was watching, and hoping, that his shot at #7 had enough distance to make it to the green. It didn't.

Tony Wease hit his ball below #5 green with just the right touch - it came to rest just a few feet from the pin.

I'm told that the shot of the day was hit by Wilma Bateman, a screamer from off the back side of #5 green that slammed into the flagstick and fell straight down into the cup. A big welcome to Mike McLaughlin who returns, after a brief stint last year, as Vic Wallace's partner. Vic, by the way, remains on top of both the individual and the team standings. And look who got the low net of the day - Dick Barber, with a nifty 30 that came on a round of 47 which included a couple of pars. Am wondering if people missed the prize marker at #6, for longest first putt; don't remember it being on the green when we passed through and noted that the third to last team through had the winner - Kenny Hudson. Might be that nobody made a first putt up to that point; no one in our foursome did.
