Notes for a snow day

Photo: Another shot from last Friday, which looks as if it will be the last day of golf in this neck of the woods for the month of January.

Notes:

-While we are experiencing our first major snow of the season with schools closed and roads almost impassable, might be a good time to spend a little time getting ready for the golfing weather that will soon be here - you know that February is going to have several days of half way decent weather, right? So, here's something for you to do, courtesy of Brent Kelley and Perry Adrisen at about.com: watch yourself. At the link, Perry lets you know what to watch for in your golf setup and swing after you have set up a mirror in an appropriate space. Go take a gander - should give you something to do while you wait for good weather. And remember to do it in pieces - Perry suggests ten minutes a day. Sounds about right to me. Of course, don't forget to keep your putting stroke sharp with daily practice while the tv drones on.

-Michelle Wie about ready to start off the year with the LPGA out in Hawaii. Here's espn.com's write up on her first event of the year at a course - Turtle Bay - where she has done fairly well. Note this in the article:
In an article Monday in The Honolulu Advertiser, Wie said she was planning to
play a "full schedule," on the LPGA Tour and will try other tours while
continuing her education at Stanford.

Looks like she is going to be pretty busy. Hope her outings include a lot of weekend play around the world.

-Where's Tiger and when do we get to see him in action? Read the other day (here) that he was instructed not to rotate on his knee - the reconstructed one - for a period of six months after the surgery. That's a long time for anyone, and an even longer time for a golfer more than interested in getting back in shape.

-Don't forget to stretch. I've incorporated the lower back exercises mentioned a while back into my daily routine. Lets see if I can find the link. Yup - here it is - I referenced it in my blog of January 8th. You know I expect that little exercise to lower my score by at least a half a stroke. (:

Time for another cup of coffee on an overcast, cold, snow covered winter day.
