Had three games on my radar yesterday, all of which turned into losses for the home team.
-In an early afternoon game, the Bloomfield girls beat up the Lady Lions in beautiful but cold downtown Loogootee, 45-34. Did like the way our clubhouse girl, Hannah LaMar, has improved over the season after being recruited to a team that needed warm bodies at the start. She had played in grade school but had concentrated on volleyball and tennis in high school. Btw, the team still needs bodies: one injury and one drop out has again left the team without a junior varsity.
-In a mid afternoon game, the UCON Husky women nipped the Lady Irish in a game that was nip and tuck throughout and easily could have gone the other way, 79-76. That was up in South Bend where the fans showed up in spite of a foot of new snow in the area. Take that, Philly/NFL.
-The New York Jets sent the Indy Colts packing with a game ending field goal, 17-16. And that was after the Colts had taken the lead with a Venetieri three pointer with 53 ticks still on the clock. Way too much time...
A day to remember? Well...
