-Scramble at 9am tomorrow.
-Short video clip of Na Yeon Choi as a young phenom (from Bangkok Bobby).
-From the same source (or go to ESPN Magazine and its The Body Issue), LPGA star Suzanne Pettersen sans clothes. Nice body, Suzann. Note to self: Next time you see her on the news or on the course, think golf. GOLF. Got it? I think I do. You say Suzann Pettersen? Now remind me again what I'm supposed to think of?
-Fun at Lakeview yesterday morning in the Thursday League and the first day of the July Match Play Tournament. Jack and I took on Dane Mosby and Ed Summers with Dane coming out breathing fire and slaying dragons. The two of them shot a nifty net 63 and whooped us 3 and 2 (we shot a net 68 in a losing effort). Dan Flynn and Mike Breeden lost their match on a technicality - they lost a hole when Mike picked up his putt rather than holing it; that led to a tie on the round and then another forfeit since Mike had already left the premises and wasn't available for a continuation of the match once the matter was decided. That was good news for 2nd seeded Frank and Susan Fee. But the story continues as Dan, who shot the day's low net with a sterling 28 (Dane shot a 29) and Mike slipped into the second round with their low net score of 67. They join Tony Wease and Charlie Sheetz (Mike Strawn subbed for Charlie yesterday) as the teams filling out the second round even though they lost their first round matches.
-Richard Lemmon shot a 38 gross yesterday. Last week he shot a 40 with a double bogey at his last hole. Nice round, Dick. Looks like it's coming together for you (we expected that...). Terry LaMar's Thursday game is pretty fine as well - he shot a 37 yesterday and has his handicap down to a three (looking forward to seeing you in the A Flight come the last tournament of the season, Terry).
-Should be a very nice day for golf with temps into the 80's. That's about 20 degrees lower than what we had a week ago. Have you noticed how nice the mid 90's felt yesterday and the day before after all that heat of last week? Humidity is back though.
-Heading to B-town.
