-The Thursday League could use a few good subs - Wayne Pearl and Dave Strange will be manning Teams 10 and 12 by themselves as of right now. Come on out and spend part of your Thursday morning going for that elusive hole-in-one that you've been meaning to pick up for several years now. Guaranteed fun on the course and maybe a bit of frustration thrown in as well.
-In last night's Tuesday Men's Match Play Tournament, Mike Breeden and Bryant Trambaugh kept making clutch chips and putts and also got the help of the golf gods. On their last hole playing Wayne Souerdike and Joe Allen and leading the match, 4.5 to 3.5, both Bryant and Mike had their tee shots roll through the sandtrap and up onto the surround. They each took three to get down but that was enough to tie Wayne and Joe on the hole and win the match. The other three matches were decided before the ninth hole, the earliest one being the Tracy Rayhill-Greg Potts/Short Jeffers-Ghost Sub match which was decided on the 6th hole. Short was again shorthanded, something which he faced a week ago and where he came out on the winning side in a match with Danny Jones and Lonnie Hawkins. Not to be this week though Tracy and Greg gave him an opening every now and then.
-Mike Arvin and Scott Arthur are as hot as the weather these days. They shot 36 and 38 in Tuesday Men's League play, a net 61 as a team. That puts them on top in the team competition with Mike also holding the top spot in the individual competition.
-British Open starts early tomorrow morning with coverage on espn starting at 4:30. Don't think I'm going to make it.
-Still hot. Go golf but drink plenty of water - makes for easier nights without cramping legs.
