Bits and Pieces: Girls Basketball

Girls basketball:  Heading into the sectional with Barr-Reeve at 20 and 0, Vincennes Rivet 17 and 3, and Loogootee at 14 and 6.  Sectional pairings here.  Loogootee gets a bye and plays either North Daviess or Washington Catholic on Friday (they should advance to the finals on Saturday).  The Vikings get the other bye and will face either Shoals or Vincennes Rivet on Friday.  Expecting it to be the Patriots taking on the Vikings on Friday.  And if that is the case, that will again be one heck of a game.  The Patriots looking for revenge after losing the regular season game to them when Lindsey Graber sank a the winning shot with 17 seconds to play - their one and only lead of the game.  The Vikings looking for payback after so many years of playing second fiddle to Rivet, not only in basketball but also in volleyball.  Being played in Montgomery.  Advantage Vikings?  The Lions, looking ahead, were swamped by Barr-Reeve during the season and played tough against the Patriots.  Expect they would rather see the Patriots on Saturday; they wouldn't say that though.  Should be a good sectional with the champion having a pretty good shot at the state title.  Lots of basketball to be played before we get to that point though.
