The #3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Women's basketball team hopped on down to Louisville for a Presidents Day matinee game with the Louisville Cardinals and came up with another win, 68-52. Skylar Diggins led all scorers with 21 points and also had 7 assists. The Cardinals kept close throughout the game with quick hands that forced the Irish into 18 turnovers in the game,12 in the first half, but saw the Irish pull away in the closing minutes. In attendance were Mike and Diane Bird from Loogootee and Eric and Colleen Bird from Odon.

P.S. That was fun - getting up yesterday morning, finding out that the Irish were playing in Louisville and then calling Eric to see if he wanted to go; finding tickets online and getting everybody (Diane and Colleen joined us - as a matter of fact, it was Colleen who responded favorably to my call around 9:15 yesterday morning - Eric was so-so on the suggestion and Diane needed an arm twisted just a little bit) in Eric's van and on the road by 11. Got down to the KFC Yum! Center in plenty of time - first time I've been there. We had seats way up in the stratosphere (section 308) but which gave us a bird's eye view of the game. Moved down to the first level at half time. As you would expect, it was mostly a Cardinal audience but they allowed us our cheering for the Gold and the Blue. Stopped at TumbleBucks (New Albany?) on the way home for some good Mexican food and a 99 cent margarita (yum).
P.S. 2: Sorry I missed the golf with Jack Lents, Jack Butcher and Ken Hudson. No doubt there was a hole-in-one out there at #7 waiting for me to pick up.
