Community League Highlights
Missy Kneip and partner Cam Sheetz closed out the Community League season with a pair of sterling 44’s to seal their position on top of the Team standings with a total of 229 points. Their net score of 60 let them squeak out a three point victory over the fast closing team of Mike Arvin and Scott Schutte. Mike shot his best ever round of 37 and dropped in an eagle putt of six feet on hole #4 in a last gasp attempt to get to the top. Third place went to a couple of guys heading back to college, Kent Summers and Noah Callahan; they came in with a final total of 222 points. In Individual play, newcomer Missy Kneip ended the season right where she spent a lot of it, in first place. She finished with a total of 492 points, easily outdistancing Noah Callahan (458), Mike Arvin (439) and Jim Hart (417). Other highlights of this last week’s play: Richard Swayze finished his season with a birdie on #9 and a round of 44 while Lucas Bird ended his with a gross 47 and a nifty net 32. Tarry Bratton and Karry Stoll each shot sterling 42’s with Tarry’s a net 30 and Karry’s a net 32 to post the second lowest net team score for the week, a 62. Individual low net scores for the week went to Missy Kneip overall and in Women with a 28; Richard Swayze in Senior with a 34; and Mike Arvin in Men with a 28. Low gross scoring honors were claimed by Missy in Women with her 44; in Senior, Bob Walton had a 43; and in Men, a tie between Mike Arvin and Tyler Walton with their 37’s. Mike Arvin and Missy Kneip share the round-of-the-week honors with their double low scores in gross and net. In the Team Tournament that covered the final two weeks of the season, Tarry Bratton and Karry Stoll posted a net score of 17 under par to narrowly beat out Kim Jones and Kay Sheetz who came in with a score of 16 under. The Sheetz/Kneip team finished third with 11 under while the Arvin/Schutte team came in fourth at 10 under.
