The Senior League has just today to settle the accounts and finish up the regular part of the season. Next week and the week after are taken up by the Individual Flighted Tournament. Today the 'Playoffs' continue with Jack Lents and Jim Bateman playing Mike Anderson and Al Kavanaugh for the honors in the Gold Flight while Jack Butcher and Rex Hudson take on Jack Nickless and Morris Cornelius (stand-ins for the Charlie Swayze and Allen Swayze Team, both of whom are otherwise preoccupied) in the Black Flight. All the other teams are involved in match play as well with the Diane Bird-Wilma Bateman match with Richard Swayze-Mike Bird taking on some added importance because of the closeness of the race in Team competition: a big win by Diane and Wilma could vault either the Lents/Bateman team or the Anderson/Kavanaugh team into first place. Don't need to say that Diane and Wilma are keen on doing their part in these last day dramatics.
Weather is supposed to continue to be very nice - sunny with moderate temperatures. Fairways are hard and the greens are soft - should see some low scores with the seniors getting an additional ten to twenty yards on their drives.
