The Thursday Match Play League gets underway today at 10am. Defending champions, all returning to the fray, are Jack Butcher and Rex Hudson in the team competition and Jack Lents in the Individual competition. Course conditions are near perfect - the spring bugs are still around but have been tolerable the past few days - wouldn't hurt to bring your magic bug-away formula (Absorbine, Jr works for me; vanilla spray also works as does a new product by the name of Buggins - touted by two different golfers at Lakeview).
Note 1: Women in the league will be teeing off from down in the flat on hole #1 and the par for them will be 4 in league competition, same as for the men.
Note 2: The men will continue to tee off on #9 from the lower level as we did last year.
Come on down, you fearless challengers; the golf gods and goddesses await us. No doubt they have some surprises for us this year. I say we surprise them as well with our sterling play and our joyful playing of this great game of golf.
