Lily and Aiden
Jeremy Graber brought his kids to the golf course late yesterday. They seem to be more than contented to ride around and watch Dad. Go here for more Lily and Aiden photos.

More Tuesday Men Photos
Nick Toy stepping up at #1.
Travis Brett and TJ McAtee subbed for Mike Arvin and Scott McAtee. Here they are coming off #2 and reacting to a comment made by an off camera golfer. I think the comment had something to do with Joe Allen's circling of #8 green (see previous posting).
Ryan Johnson striding confidently (?) after hitting his tee shot at #1. Dave Wininger in the foreground.

Tuesday Men's League Collages
Mike Seals hitting his first shot of the night. I'ld say that's pretty good form.
Joe Allen had fun during his round. Here he is approaching hole #8 from three rather unusual locations: his third shot from below #3 red; his fourth shot from above #2 green; and his fifth shot from down by the bridge long and left of #8 green. Think he deserves at least a bouquet of red flowers for the show he put on for playing partners Mike and Tyler Kidwell.

Come on down, Tuesday Men!
Looks pretty good out there. As of now we are a go. Come on out and play your round.
More K of C photos
Kim Jones before the start of play with a smile and a wave.
Terry Butcher, the guy who organized the outing, here patiently waiting for the golfers to gather. He's got a cup of coffee just off to the right.
Kevin Downey during the action, here out at #3 green holding up a ball that wouldn't get to the hole. Care to guess what color the ball was? Hint: it didn't make it to the cup and the same kind of balls are used by a pretty successful lady golfer with the initials PC, at least on Sunday.
Looks like Joe Allen has the floor here with Scott Hickman, Danny Jones and Gary Burris. Pre scramble commentary on the state of the world, no doubt.

Hold on a bit, Tuesday Men.
Looks like we're stuck with a rainy day but lets wait till noon (at least) to see if this system moves just a little bit eastward. Wouldn't take all that much to get us on the other side and into just clouds. And that would mean Tuesday Men could actually play their golf on a Tuesday! Update at noon...

James Hager completed his round this afternoon and that completed the Tuesday Men's League event for last Tuesday, week two of the season. The results are posted here. At the top of the Team standings are Terry Butcher and Jeff Doyle (standing in for Pops Joe) which makes them the winners of Team Tournament I. Second place is a tie between the teamsof Greg Potts and Tracy Rayhill, and the team of Brent Courter and Larry Sutton. Congrats to the winners. Now on to Event 3.

Tyler Kidwell and Jack Nickless Make it Two Weeks in a Row
Tyler Kidwell and Jack Nickless traded in young Jeff Doyle for senior George Templin and then went on to win the Saturday Scramble at Lakeview for the second week in a row. The threesome scored a thirty for the nine hole game on a windy, sunny and warm day at Boggs Lake. Three teams tied for second at 32: Terry Butcher, Jr Byron and Bric Parker for one; Mike Kidwell, Mike Bird and Lee Wininger for a second; and Trenton Kidwell, Tyler Walton and Joe Allen for a third.
The Thursday Senior League completed its second event of the young season on the 23rd with Vic Wallace and Mike McLaughlin on top of the Team standings. Vic also is on top in the Individual competition. Shot of the day went to Wilma Bateman who sent a screamer towards the pin on #5 which hit the flagstick and dropped straight down. Sharpshooters for the day were Kenny Hudson and Vic Wallace for long putts; and Al Kavanaugh and Jim Bateman for close shots to the pin. Low net score was claimed by Dick Barber with a nifty thirty on a gross of forty-seven. Dick also shared the low net team score with John Chapman with a sixty-nine. Mike Bird had the low gross of the day with a thirty-eight.
The Tuesday Men's League players found themselves again fighting the weather with a third straight week's play being disrupted with rain and cold. However, the golfers did complete their rounds for event one. George Templin and super sub Chad Wade (for Don Nolan) lead the Team standings while Bric Parker, Chad Wade and Jeff Doyle sit at the top of the Individual standings. The preseason handicapped scramble was won by Bric Parker and Curt Johnson with a net score of 27.33.

K of C Photos
Some of the players in yesterday's K of C scramble out at Lakeview Golf Course. Heard that the winning score was nine under with two or three teams at eight under. Think the Albert kavanaugh team, with Cap Knepp and two of this boys, Kraig and Kevin, had the winning score.

Saturday Golfers
Danny Jones, Terry Butcher, Steve Sheetz and Scott Hickman came out in the late afternoon to get ready for the K of C scramble Sunday morning.
Another late afternoon group, two couples, here teeing off on #8.
And representing the younger set, Randy Graber's boys, here doing their thing at #7 tee box.

Sand shot and body english
Joe Potts splashes one out of the sandtrap and onto the green at #9 yesterday afternoon.
Joe's playing partners included brother Greg, and Tracy and Cory Rayhill, three playing a Tuesday Men's League round. Here Cory, subbing for Mike Albertson, uses just enough body english to get the ball to fall into the hole for a round of 39. That gave him a one stroke advantage on both dad, Tracy (who groaned when the ball fell into the cup), and Greg, each of whom finished with 40's.

Senior Moments
Denny Wagoner not too happy with his shot at #7 which found the water to the left.
Joe Gray was watching, and hoping, that his shot at #7 had enough distance to make it to the green. It didn't.
Kenny Hudson watching his older brother throw one up onto the green, also at #7.
Tony Wease hit his ball below #5 green with just the right touch - it came to rest just a few feet from the pin.
I'm told that the shot of the day was hit by Wilma Bateman, a screamer from off the back side of #5 green that slammed into the flagstick and fell straight down into the cup. A big welcome to Mike McLaughlin who returns, after a brief stint last year, as Vic Wallace's partner. Vic, by the way, remains on top of both the individual and the team standings. And look who got the low net of the day - Dick Barber, with a nifty 30 that came on a round of 47 which included a couple of pars. Am wondering if people missed the prize marker at #6, for longest first putt; don't remember it being on the green when we passed through and noted that the third to last team through had the winner - Kenny Hudson. Might be that nobody made a first putt up to that point; no one in our foursome did.

Thursday Seniors
Tomorrow at 9am the Thursday Senior League has its 2nd event of the season. The league's results can be found here. Note that the second line of that page includes a link to the league's schedule which can also be found here. See you all in the morning and remember to bring your A game. Something to keep in mind: keep your head down, strike the ball cleanly, use the right club (don't underclub).
Wednesday golfers
Jack Lents, George Templin and Jim Murphy here watching Rob Sterling's drive at #1. The foursome were taking advantage of the sunny but windy day to get in a weather postponed Tuesday Men's League round.

Tuesday Men: Event 1 results are posted
Just posted the results of the Tuesday Men's League, event one. That would be play scheduled for April 14th that extended through today because of the weather. Today's event, in case you missed it, is also a weather event. We did have eight of the sixty-eight golfers show up and get their rounds in. Wasn't all that bad out there, just a little cool and windy.
Tuesday Men - Event 2 declared a weather event
Just talked with Eric at the golf course who said it's 'freaking cold'. Diane reported the same thing an hour ago when she got back from a trip to the golf course. That, along with an afternoon that promises nothing better and maybe something worse, led to the declaration of event 2 as a 'weather event'. Players have the option to play today or to complete their round anytime before event 3 scheduled for next Tuesday, the 28th.
Tuesday Men - Come on Down!
A little windy and a little cool but maybe we can coax that sun to stay around awhile - like, all day. The combination of the two, the wind and the sun, sure will help to dry things out.
Thought for the day: keep your head down, hit the ball solid, use the right club. Today would be a good day to hit every green in regulation.

Swabbie and his girlfriend
Recognize these two long time marrieds and long time golfers? Hint: they live five to ten miles north of the golf course and can often be seen carting around a great grandchild or two. Photo was taken way back in 1949.
