Tyler Kidwell and Jack Nickless Make it Two Weeks in a Row

Tyler Kidwell and Jack Nickless traded in young Jeff Doyle for senior George Templin and then went on to win the Saturday Scramble at Lakeview for the second week in a row. The threesome scored a thirty for the nine hole game on a windy, sunny and warm day at Boggs Lake. Three teams tied for second at 32: Terry Butcher, Jr Byron and Bric Parker for one; Mike Kidwell, Mike Bird and Lee Wininger for a second; and Trenton Kidwell, Tyler Walton and Joe Allen for a third.

The Thursday Senior League completed its second event of the young season on the 23rd with Vic Wallace and Mike McLaughlin on top of the Team standings. Vic also is on top in the Individual competition. Shot of the day went to Wilma Bateman who sent a screamer towards the pin on #5 which hit the flagstick and dropped straight down. Sharpshooters for the day were Kenny Hudson and Vic Wallace for long putts; and Al Kavanaugh and Jim Bateman for close shots to the pin. Low net score was claimed by Dick Barber with a nifty thirty on a gross of forty-seven. Dick also shared the low net team score with John Chapman with a sixty-nine. Mike Bird had the low gross of the day with a thirty-eight.

The Tuesday Men's League players found themselves again fighting the weather with a third straight week's play being disrupted with rain and cold. However, the golfers did complete their rounds for event one. George Templin and super sub Chad Wade (for Don Nolan) lead the Team standings while Bric Parker, Chad Wade and Jeff Doyle sit at the top of the Individual standings. The preseason handicapped scramble was won by Bric Parker and Curt Johnson with a net score of 27.33.
