Thursday Match Play League Notes

Susan Fee won the the Individual Handicapped Tournament on Thursday by shooting a net round of two under par which gave her a twelve under par score for the 36 hole tournament.  Jim Bateman, who started the day tied with Susan, shot a net round of one over and ended up tied for second with Pam Byron.  The Fees also took over first place in the team competition by defeating the Batemans, 10.5 to 3.5, in their head to head face off.   For the day, Dave Brown had a brilliant round of 37 to tie Mike Bird for the low gross of the day and easily win the low net with a 26.  Carroll Rayhill carded a net 30 to place second behind Brown.  John Chapman became the third player in the last three weeks to sit at the top of the individual standings.  He replaces Wayne Pearl, last week's leader, who is now in second eleven points back.  Brown and playing partner Ray Shaw, had the low net team score of the day with a 64.  Hole prizes were claimed by Joe Gray at #7 and Al Kavanaugh at both #8 and #9.  The group average for event 10 was 46.14, up almost a stroke from the previous week.  Next week: Mid season scramble - a 2 person, nine hole, handicapped challenge where regular league members and substitutes get to test their skills in the scramble format.
