-Week one of four of the Individual Handicapped Tournament.
-Par-Birdie combo leader to date: Phil Eyler with 32 pars and 7 birds for 39 total, followed closely by Doug Denson with 31 pars and 5 birds for a 36, and Trenton Kidwell with 26 pars and 10 birds for a 36.
-Individual leader, Tom McAtee, was half drenched with the rains last night. He was out to sharpen his game so as to extend his stay at the top of the heap no doubt. Odds that he will? Pretty volatile up there at the top.
-Look for Junior Byron to be a factor in the Handicapped Tournament. He's carrying a gaudy 6 handicap (earned) and has been firing 38's these last few days, even a 37 yesterday. Which is more like his old self. Son Kevin may also be a factor as well with a 14 handicap and the game to shoot in the low 40's.
-Mike Kidwell is another one to watch. He's carrying a 7 handicap and should be playing around a zero handicap. Others: Tony Wease, Bryant Trambaugh, Charlie Sheetz.
-Thought for the day: Get out there and have fun whacking that little orb about in the heat of the afternoon and evening. Bring plenty of liquid refreshment of your choice.
