Bits and Pieces: Winners

Winners:

-Packers with three turnovers converted to 21 points.  The Steelers dominated from mid 2nd quarter.  But for those three fatal mistakes.  Oh, and then there was that last series for Pitt.  Did you think of Super Bowl XLIII, just two years ago, where the George Blanda of the 21st century, Kurt Warner, had taken the upstart Arizona Cardinals down the field to an improbable lead late in the game, all for naught when Roethlisberger and company followed suit with a game winning drive of their own?  I did and I expected the same thing to happen again.  Not to be.  The team with all that big game experience looked like a group of men just thrown together for a pickup game for those last three plays.  Oops.  Congrats to the Packers and to both teams for a couple of hours of great entertainment.  Even Diane stayed 'riveted' for the entire game.  (She was really more interested in the commercials but those didn't turn out to be anywhere near as spectacular as the big guys slamming into each other while trying to hold on to a bit of pigskin.)

-Yani Tseng, brilliant young Taiwanese lady golfer who continued her winning ways with a seven stroke triumph at the Aussie Women's Open.

-Local golfers who took advantage of the mid forty temperatures and got out in their back yard and chipped around a bit.  I did.  Looks like we've got to wait for the weekend for another go at golf in southern Indiana - sunny skies and rising temps Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Hurray!
