Bits and Pieces

-Tiger Woods closes with an eagle down in Dubai to get to -1, six shoots shy of Rory McIlroy.  He also played two worse than his playing partners, Kaymer and Westwood.  For the first 17 holes, his play was erratic.  Not good though the closing eagle might be enough to jump start his confidence and his game.  He's a work-in-progress.  Isn't that what we all are?  (Yes.)

-Brent Kelley at about.com wonders if Phil Mickelson can reach his goal of 50 career wins and then makes a solid case for a negative on that.   I agree with Brent - no way does Phil make it to 50 wins - he's 12 shy, just turned 40, and is having physical issues.  That all said, he has been impressive so far this year, much more so than that other guy mentioned above.  Go take a peek and vote what you think.

-Loogootee boys (12-4) playing at Orleans (11-4) tonight.  Should be a good one as each team is having a good season.

-ND men played Louisville to a tie through regulation and then buried them in overtime up in South Bend last night.  Final score: 89-79.

-Going out into the cold - take a walk while putting stuff in the mailbox (it's way down at the bottom of the hill) and then breakfast with Diane.  Late today - we both slept in after feeding the yuks yesterday.  Probably something I brought home from Eric's and my tutoring session with grandson Lucas who's having all sorts of crazy fun with his 1st year algebra.  Outta here.  (Look for more sectional pics a little later.)
