Bits and Pieces

-Something you never want to do:  Kevin Na set a new 'worst' record at the Texas Valero Open on Thursday when he took 16 strokes to complete the ninth hole.  Spent most of the time in some knarly woods.  Ouch.  Btw, he finished with an 80 that day and shot a 77 on Friday to miss the cut by 8 strokes.

-Something you might want to see:  John Drake and Tom McAtee had just teed off at #9 at Lakeview on Thursday afternoon when a mink with a snake in its mouth walked in front of them and disappeared under the fallen tree just below the service building.  The two, along with the mink, were unfazed by the unexpected meeting.  Larry Wininger reported seeing the mink on one of his rounds recently as well.  Neither Eric or I have seen the minks this year though they have been in the area for several years.  We figure they had their nest down just south of #7 green but had to move when the shoreline was rip-rapped last fall.  Neat little critters.

-Something your eyes will appreciate:  The Seoul Sisters preview the KLPGA season with commentary and photos.  Especially like the photos of the young ladies in non golfing garb; note the funky hat pics.

-Saturday Swing Tip from Butch Harmon and linkslifegolf.com: When you top the ball, it's not that you're peeking (looking up) but rather that you're straightening up.  Butch says stay in position.

-Looks like our weather this weekend is going to be all right after all:  Chance of showers today but mostly not; and sunny and in the high 60's tomorrow.  We'll take it.

-Scramble at 9 this morning.
