As you all know, we have been posting up on the sign board each week, a rule of the week. This is for the purpose of making everyone aware of our local League rules and USGA golf rules. Most of you are aware of these rules but some may not be, and we want to use this for your information and knowledge. Please be sure to look at the board each week.
This week, I posted up a definition of golf, which has created some questions. The definition of a stroke: A "stroke" is the forward movement of the club made with the intention of striking at and moving the ball... I posted this up because some golfers are not aware of the fact that if you swing, intending to hit the ball, and just whiff it or miss the ball entirely, that it should be counted as a stroke.
I hope that this clears up any questions or misunderstandings anyone may have, but please feel free to come to us with any questions you may have. If we don't know the answer, we can always look it up in the rule books.
Thank you.
