Community League

The team of Tarry Bratton and Bill Harder expanded their lead in the team competition, going from a one point lead to twenty-some after this past week’s play. Tyson Stoll and Adam Wagler moved into second ahead of Bryant Ackerman and Clinton Burch. Adam Wagler continues to do well in Individual play, firing a gross 40 and a net 30, and upping his lead to sixty-plus points over Bill Harder and Ken Wagler. Jamal Wittmer shot a very nifty 29 to take the net honors, with Adam Wagler’s and Tom Taylor’s 30’s placing second. Low net team honors went to Michael Graber and Jamal Wittmer with their super 60. The Community League starts their July Team Tournament with the next event, with twenty-five teams contending for the eight places available in the second round.

Senior League

In Senior League play, five of the seven lower seeds won their matches with Bob Elliott and Joe Gray, the #14 seed, playing the #1 seeded team of Mike Bird and Richard Swayze to a draw and then winning on the tiebreaker. The four week tournament, embedded in the regular season play, will produce two winning teams: the match play champions as well as a points race winner. The team of Ward Smith and Clyde Wake lead that competition with a score of eighty-six; Ken Hudson and JD Faris are second with 76 points. In regular season play, Junior Byron and Wayne Pearl continue to close in on Richard Swayze and Mike Bird, trailing the frontrunners by just two and a half points. The two teams go head to head in action this coming Thursday. In the Individual standings, Wayne Pearl and Mike Bird took over the top spot from Rex Hudson, each of them having 332 points; Richard Swayze is in third with 323 points. Low scores for event 12 were posted by Bob Elliott and Ken Swayze in the net category with 29’s; Mike Bird had the low gross with a 35, with Jack Butcher’s 39 coming in second. The low net for team was a tie at 63, posted by Clyde Wake and Ward Smith along with Ken Hudson and JD Faris. Sharpshooters for the event were Vic Wallace and Wayne Pearl with long putts, and Junior Byron and Albert Kavanaugh in close to the pin shots.

Tuesday Men’s League

The team of Curt Johnson and Bric Parker regained the top spot in the Tuesday Men’s League. Doug Denson and Buck Holland scored 50 points in their round and remain in second place, just five points behind the leaders. Last week’s leaders, Mike Kidwell and Joe Allen, dropped to third but are just eleven points back. In Individual competition, Buck Holland took the top spot from absent Bric Parker while Derek Gilbertson and Mike Breeden, each getting 113 points on their play, jumped into second and third. Low net team score was posted by the teams of Short Jeffers and Jack Divine, and Jim Murphy and Rob Sterling with 64’s. Low gross of 34 was carded by Derek Gilbertson, Short Jeffers and Mark Sherer.
