Tuesday Men - Come on Down
Week 2 of the Team Tournament. Seventeen teams advanced last week. After today's play, eight teams (plus ties) advance to week three. Last week, a net 70 kept you in the game. Today? Better take a few strokes off that number - maybe a 68, even a 67. The fairways continue to dry out - your ball will run some. Greens are being heavily watered. Should make for lower scores. Of note: Bric Parker popped a couple of muscles in his leg the other night - we carted him off in Eric's EZGO work horse to the appreciative cheers of the gathering crowds (meaning Mike Arvin); however, he was out there last night all wrapped up and swinging a club - he wanted to see if he could play today (last I heard, he expects to do just that). Guys with the big targets on their backs, the frontrunners: Buck Holland at the top in the individual standings; Bric and Curt Johnson in the team standings. Kudos to the zero handicappers - Mark Potts, James Hager, Mark Jeffers. And the guys who are knocking on the door with a one handicap: Doug Denson, Derek Gilbertson, and Phil Eyler. Also of note: Weston Muessig started out last week with a bogey, par, and then another bogey on #3; but then finished with two pars and four birdies (nice turnaround, don't you think?). Trenton Kidwell gave away three strokes on the first and last holes but found three birdies inbetween to finish with an even par 35. Mark Potts, with three birdies, an eagle and five pars, got himself a new personal best at Lakeview, a 30. (Btw, what are the lows at Lakeview? James Hager has a 29; I and Mark Potts have 30's. Would like to hear of lows you now of. Rick Wininger?) And today? Still waiting for a hole-in-one in league play this year. Any takers? Come on down, guys. Bring your clubs, a drink of your choice, and your A game.
