Thursday Match Play League Team Tournament and Event 5 Notes

After Thursday's play, Richard Barber and John Chapman remain at the top of the leaderboard after 27 holes in the Pearl/Byron Team Tournament.  With one round to go, they enjoy a two stroke lead over the team of Pam Byron and Patty Bowling, a four stoke lead over Frank and Susan Fee, and a five stroke lead over Clyde Wake and Terry LaMar.  Fourteen teams are participating with scores ranging from the leaders' even par score of 210 to the 229 score of Vic Wallace and Joe Gray.    For the day, Wayne Pearl blistered the course with a sterling 39 and a low net score of 29, six under par; Wilma Bateman had a good round as well, her three under par good for second place.  Mike Bird lead in gross scoring, shooting a 37 with Wayne Pearl's 39 being the second best.  Hole prizes were claimed by Dave Brown at both #7 and #9, and Mike Bird at #8.  Leaders through five events are Jim and Wilma Bateman in the team competition and Dave Brown in the individual competition.
