More on Stan Utley and The Art of Putting

Did take some notes while reading this book - still reading it.

Notes:

-concentrate on the process, not the outcome - make a good putt - do what you can - if it goes in, put a feather in your cap; if you make a good stroke, give yourself a quarter.
-checklist of things to do before you hit the putt - the routine - can be as simple as lining up the putt, taking your stance, a brief look at the target line and then hit the ball with that sure stroke. LSLH - Line, Stance, Look, Hit.
-see it, feel it, trust it

-be parallel to your target line with your alignment
-forearms should be on an even keel - not one above the other

One area where he disagrees with Dave Pelz is in the arc of the swing. Pelz says make it simple - straight back straight through. Utley sees that as unnatural, that we naturally swing in an arc. Putting stroke should be the same. I'm not sold on Utley's arc yet - still working on that.

My putting - a work in progress.
