Just got back from the golf course - Eric and Lucas are scurrying around cutting grass and watering. I was out there to put out hole prize markers and deliver some keys. Catching up - we were in South Bend the last two days putting my dad in the ground.
So, who's going to have the hot stick this week? Mark Potts is out there now playing his round, looking for a 30. Last week, he shot a 32 in both the Tuesday Men's League and the Community League, and was on the winning Saturday scramble team. A good week for him. But there were others who did well. James Hager, Derek Gilbertson, Keith Parsons, Curt Johnson and Bric Parker to mention a few. Note: Fifty-five of the sixty-eight players came in at net par or better last week (both gross and net scoring averages dropped by a stroke and a half), an indication that their games are rounding into shape, handicaps finally caught up with skill levels, weather and the grounds proved favorable, or the planets were aligned just right. And were you aware of the completely different conditions Tuesday brought us last week? Early players had plenty of sun and warmth while the later players had roiling thunder clouds and the possibility of rain ever present - it eventually did catch up with the last few players. So, today's another day to pack up your clubs and head on down to Lakeview and do some shining. Btw - still looking for that first league hole-in-one of the season.
