Butcher, Divine, Shaw and Allen Win Scramble at Lakeview
The team of Josh Butcher, Jordan Divine, Ray Shaw and Joe Allen used eagles on the par fives and a three foot putt for birdie on #7 by Joe Allen on their way to seven under in the Saturday morning scramble at Lakeview. That gave them the victory over six other teams, three of whom came in at six under. Second place, decided on the cards, was taken by Trenton Kidwell, DJ Harder, Terry Bratton and Bryant Trambaugh.Community League
The Lakeview Community League got underway this past week with twenty-three teams and one individual participating. The summer league this season has players ranging in age from thirteen up into the mid eighties. After the first week of play, the team of Tyson Stoll and Adam Wagler lead in the team competition by a scant two points over the team of Ray and Carol Shaw. Tyson and Adam shot a nifty low net score of 66 to pace the way, with Adam also carding the low net individual round at 30. That puts him on top of the individual competition as well, with a five point lead over Junior Byron, Pam Byron and Duane Wagler. Junior Byron led the field in birdies with three, while Jeremy Graber and Mark Potts each came in with six pars to lead in that category.
Senior League
On Thursday, Diane Bird came out firing darts and ended up carding a very nifty round of net 26 with a gross 46; Wayne Pearl also did himself proud by coming in at a net 28 on a round of 40. Diane paired with Leroy Streepy to tie Tony Wease and Charlie Sheetz with the team low net of the week at ten under par. Sharpshooters included Dave Brown and Charlie Sheetz with long putts, and Tony Wease and Pam Byron with close to the pins. Richard Swayze and Mike Bird took sole possession of 1st place in the team competition by taking 11.5 points in their match with Ray Shaw and Dave Brown. Rex Hudson retained possession of the top spot in individual competition, though Jack Lents and Richard Barber made inroads on his lead and are within fifteen points. Jack Lents came in with a super gross score of 38, second in low gross for the day to Mike Bird's 37.
Tuesday Men's League
James Hager, Weston Muessig and Cory Rayhill all broke par with scores of 34 last Tuesday as the Men's League players started to find the range and get into the rhythm of the season. The low net rounds of the day belonged to Curt Johnson at 25 on a nifty round of 37, along with Cory Rayhill and Jack Divine with 28's. Jack also got himself an eagle when he chipped in from seventy yards on hole #5. Low net team score, a brilliant 58, was carded by Curt Johnson and Bric Parker. Sharpshooters for the day included James Hager, Larry Sutton and Ryan Johnson with long putts, and Josh Butcher, TJ McAtee and Skip Ackerman with close to the pin shots. Weston Muessig and James Hager led the birdie parade with three each, while Junior Byron came in with the most pars at seven. Leaders at the end of the seventh event of the season are Mike Kidwell and Joe Allen at the top of the team standings and the team of Short Jeffers and Jack Divine in second; in individual competition, Tony Wease has the top spot with Bric Parker, Weston Muessig and Tracy Rayhill in second, third and fourth places.
