News Article for the Week

Summerfest Scramble

Jason Schutte, Scott Schutte and Mike Arvin with Summerfest royalty Waylee Wagoner and Kelci Mann. Jason, Scott, Mike and Doug Arvin shot a net 54 to win the Summerfest Scramble at Lakeview on Saturday. The team also picked up a skin and a hole prize for their morning's efforts. Mike Kidwell with the Harrel boys, Derek and Devon, along with Brett Chestnut claimed second place in low net (on a tiebreaker) at 56. Low gross score was posted by Short Jeffers, Kevin Byron, Junior Byron and Tony Wease with a score of 57. Claiming one of the two skins was the team of TJ McAtee, Derek Gilbertson, Dustin Schnarr and Jordan Schnarr. Dustin had chip ins at hole one and then again at number four, that one worth some money for the group. Hole prizes were won by Scott Schutte, Jordan Schnarr, Scott Wallace and Dave Wininger.

Community League

The team of Ray and Carol Shaw jumped back into the top spot in team competition with a very nifty net round of nine under in this week’s Community League event. Also shooting nine under this week were Bob Norris and Clyde Wake. Moving into second place was the team of Mike Graber and Cody Yoder with last week’s leaders, Tarry Bratton and Bill Harder, tumbling to third. Jamal Wittmer at 28 and Mike (Finny) Graber at 29 shot the low net rounds of the week. Mark Potts at 32 and Ken Wagler at 35 shot the low gross rounds. After four events, Adam Wagler sits on top of the Individual standings with Ray Shaw, Duane Wagler and Cody Yoder filling out the second through fourth positions.

Senior League

Last Thursday’s Senior event suffered the same fate as the US Open on Long Island, a rain out. The league players will make up the missed action sometime before the end of this Thursday’s golf day.

Tuesday Men’s League

The Men’s League event was declared a rain event during the morning hours when the weather was so ominous. As it turned out, most of the rain went elsewhere and a lot of the players did get their rounds in. Others have come in during the week to play their rounds. With most of the rounds complete, the Team leaders remain Curt Johnson and Bric Parker, with Bric also topping the Individual standings. For the event itself, Tim Voegerl had the low net round (so far) with a 29; Chris Bledsoe, Jeff Doyle and Bryant Trambaugh each posted 30’s. Team low net was carded by Trenton Kidwell and Chris Bledsoe with a 64. Mike Kidwell led the birdie parade with three, getting them at holes two, six and nine.
