Bits and Pieces

-Tiger is back!  Hurray!  At the Masters with two eagles, three birdies, three bogeys and ten pars.  A little inconsistent, especially with the putter.  Woods (how many people still call them 'woods'?) and irons - pretty damn good.  Putter woes to be expected what with the lack of competition these last several months.  Others:  Jim Furyk - opened with two birds in the first three holes and finished with a third but had trouble with those fourteen intervening holes - eleven over - oops.  Tom Watson and Fred Couples - golden oldies - wow!  Awful lot of red numbers for a Major, don't you think?  Black numbers today?  Tiger tees off at 10:35.

-Time out - important phone call from oldest daughter Miki.  Major decision time for her and her man Kevin this weekend.

-Stephanie Wie at Wie Uner Par got all tingly and giddy with TW's return.  And - I understand that espn broke from it's regular programming to televise that return and the first shot down the fairway.  Haven't heard that the networks did the same.

-Are we happy that Tiger is back?  Definitely yes.

-Golf with the boys - Jack L., Ken H. and Jack B. - at eleven this morning.  Time to get some of those quarters back that took a little trip last Tuesday.  Expect woods and irons to do well and the chipping and putting to do significantly better.

-Tip for the day:  Bury yourself in the now, the moment.  No looking back or forward.  Concentrate on the task at hand.  One shot, one swing, at a time.  (Or whatever it is you might be doing - it really doesn't have to be golf.)

-Saturday Morning Scramble - starts at 10 tomorrow - nine holes, all welcome.  Flags and skins afterwards for those interested.
