Day 2 of the young season. Expect a little cooler weather today than last week but still nice.
Notes:
-Mike Kidwell joins Terry Butcher at the big zero handicap mark. Congrats, Mike.
-Expect hole #1 to play the hardest again. Just a little difficult to jump into the golf play mode real quick coming off work or from wherever. Cudos to those who have mastered the skill of coming to the first hole in a ready mode. Last week: 8 pars and 1 birdie at the opening hole - out of 61 players.
-Note that I've placed the degree of hardness after the scorecard section of the report.
-Today's event is the warm up to the first four week tournament of the season - the Phil Eyler/Charlie Lyon Team Handicapped Tournament (tournaments are named after the previous year's winners). The team which gathers the most points over the four weeks will claim the trophy.
-Remember how you earn points? In both team and individual competition, you play against the field. For every win (lower net score), give yourself (or your team), two points; for every tie, one point.
-Will try the complimentary cart again this week - make birdies on the first two holes and Diane will give you a complimentary cart for the next event.
-Last note: Have fun out there.
