Bits and Pieces

Photo: Tyler Kidwell finishing his swing out at #3 in last Saturday's scramble. Think that is his brother Trenton's team in the background finishing up at #9.

-The Masters: Phil Mickelson superb, Tiger brilliant at times (but not enough times to offset his moments of bewilderment - you know, like when you hit a golf ball and ask yourself "Where did that come from?!"). I found the four days fantastic with lots of drama and magical shots by a whole host of players. Certainly Tiger was not the only story - think Tom Watson, Fred Couples, Lee Westwood, KC Choi, Anthony Kim, all those eagles including Tiger's four and a tie of the record, Phil's eagle-eagle-birdie on Saturday. My oh my, what a show they put on for us down in Augusta. Oh, almost forgot the two aces at #16 yesterday - Stephanie Wie has a photo of Ryan Moore in a tie and exclaims how that is the first guy in a tie to make a hole-in-one in forever.

-Reminder (again): Lakeview Leagues get underway this week with a mixed league two person handicapped scramble. Be sure and get your partner in gear and come on down and show the world some of your own magic with a golf stick.

-We are seeing some new faces this year: Among them: Allan Harmon, who stopped in last night and signed himself and Rob Rollins up for the Tuesday Men's League. Allan is the grandson of neighbor Sam Harmon and son of Brad Harmon, who graduated from Shoals a year or two ahead of my oldest daughter, Miki.

-Golf babe and a blast from the past: Nancy Lopez.

-Go golf, guys...
