Mike Bird holed out his tee shot at #3 during the final day of League play on Tuesday, claiming his second ace at that hole and third ace overall. Playing with Tom Walker, Greg Potts and Tracy Rayhill, Bird used a Taylor Made 22 degree rescue club to drive his ProV1x ball through the headwind some 150 yards and onto the green. The golfers noted the excellent path of the ball but were not able to see its final destination. After reaching the green and seeing the divot some 15 feet in front of the flag but no ball sitting on the green, and after Tracy Rayhill identified the ball off the green directly behind the flag as his, someone suggested that it might be in the hole. Bird, still wondering which clubs he would need to finish the hole, watched as Rayhill ambled over and found the ball in the cup. Raising his arms in delight, Bird accepted congratulations from his playing partners and commented that that took care of the double bogey at #2. Bird went on to finish his round with a one over par 36.
