A little change in the weather, like 50 degrees overnight! Makes for very pleasant golfing out at Lakeview and for the Tuesday Men. The little bit of rain we got the other day didn't slow the ball down that much - they still will scoot down the fairways at a pretty good clip.
Today, two extra hole prizes are on the course waiting to picked up: Close to the barrel at the 50 yard line in the fairway on hole #2 with your first shot from the tee; and long drive in the fairway (between the cart path on the right and the median on the left) on hole #6, again with your tee shot. Good luck to those who choose to enter the competition.
Week 3 of the flighted tournament. Leaders: James Hager (A); Jordan Divine (B); tie in C with Jake Divine, Karry Stoll and Skip Ackerman all at 79; Paul Hart in D; Kevin Byron and Lonnie Hawkins, each at 91 in E; and Tom Trambaugh in F. With 18 holes to go before champions are crowned, lots of time for movement both up and down.
Crunch time in the regular season: Tracy Rayhill and Greg Potts have kinda made a statement last week, firing net team round of 67 and staying on top for a third week in a row; can they make another one today? Any one of several teams are close enough to make their own statement and take over the top of the standings. Wouldn't be a bad place to be with the last event coming up just seven days down the road.
Same goes for the individual race. Jordan Divine is having all sorts of fun with his game right now. That includes his best ever round of 33 last Tuesday. He does have a littler breathing space with an 81 point lead on Dan Jones and John Drake. But with 100+ points available in each of the next two weeks, that space can disappear with a stellar round by a contender or two.
If you're playing early, better bring a sweater - we're in the low 50's right now. Course is ready. Bring your A game and plan on having some fun whacking a bit of a ball with a long stick.
