The Saturday morning scramblers at Lakeview Golf Course divided themselves into a nine hole bunch and an eighteen hole bunch for fun and games this Memorial Day weekend. The eighteen hole event, a six hole scramble, a six hole best ball and a six hole alternate shot game, was played by twelve golfers with the team of Doug Denson, Mark Sherer and Kevin Byron firing a two under par to take the trophy. At even par were the teams of Short Jeffers, Mike Bird and Karry Stoll, and Terry Butcher, Derek Gilbertson and Gary Knepp. Fourth place honors went to the team of Dave Wininger, Junior Byron and Rob Sterling with a score of three over par. Of note: the Jeffers team had the best scramble score at four under; the Butcher team had the best Best Ball score at a plus one; and the Denson team had the best Alternate Shot score with a one under. The Denson team sealed its win by coming in at minus one on the final three holes; by contrast, the Butcher team fell from contention by bogeying the last two holes. Double bogeys on #9 and #15 sank the Jeffers team while the Wininger team fired a five over par on holes ten, eleven and twelve to minimize the chance for victory.
In the nine hole scramble, Mike and Trenton Kidwell paired with Jack and Jordan Divine to best the team of Tyler Kidwell, Wayne Souerdike and Greg Potts.
