Notes I made as golfers finished their rounds and turned in their scorecards
League Highlights
5/6/08 Tuesday Men
-Skip Ackerman eagles #5 with a chip in from below the green; also birdies #9 and comes in with a score of 36.
-Leroy Allbright, subbing for Dan Steiner, takes two over on #3 and #6 but then almost holes out his tee shot on #7 and fires a 38; gets the hole prize on #7 as well.
-Mark Potts, subbing for Bric Parker, started off by hitting his tee shot on #1 just down the hill, settled for a bogey on the hole, then went on to shoot two under the rest of the way.
-Doug Denson came in with a 34 and said it should have been better: a lip hanger on #1 and boring pars on the par fives.
-Steven Downey said his round of 37 was more like it after disappointing rounds the first two weeks of the season.
-Terry Butcher chunked a couple of shots going down #1 but recovered enough to shoot a 36, a score which included three birdies.
-Junior Byron birdied #7 to go one under for his round but gave it back on #9 to shoot an even par for the day.
-Short Jeffers took a bogey but made a long putt good enough for a hole prize on #8.
-Tim Voegerl turned forty in February and is wondering where his golf game has gone…
-Jordan Divine turned in a sterling 40 today.
Hole Prizes went to Ryan Johnson, Leroy Allbright, Short Jeffers and Skip Ackerman. Low net score to Leroy Allbright with a 31; low gross to Doug Denson and Mark Potts with 34's. Low net team was also a tie: James Hager and Ryan Johnson along with Mike Breeden and Bryant Trambaugh with 65's.
