John Chapman birdied five, had a bunch of pars and only two bogies to post a 36 gross and a 26 net. That gave him a double low score for the day, one of those things that doesn't happen any too often. Mike Bird went seven holes at par and then found a bogey and a double bogey to close with a 38. Partner Richard Swayze found five extra shots on his closing three holes to finish at 44 and a net 35, having shot just four over on the first six holes. Mike Anderson found the only other birdie, a four on hole #4. Vic Wallace, playing with Dale DeLong's replacement, Ward Smith, shot a 46 and a net 29; the 29 gave him second place in the low net category. Vic and Ward shot the low net team score for the day with a 61. Hole prize winners for the day were Junior Byron on #3, Al Kavanaugh on #7, Ward Smith at #8 and Wilma Bateman on #9. Average gross score for the day was 46.59, down .3 from the previous week. At the end of play, Richard Swayze and Mike Bird remained in first place in Team play with115 points; Dave Strange and Clyde Wake climbed into second place with 106.5 points while Jack Lents and Jim Bateman slipped into a tie for third place with Mike Anderson and Al Kavanaugh at 103 points. In Individual play, Mike Bird slipped into first place with 417 points, one point in front of Richard Swayze and sixteen in front of Jack Lents. Al Kavanaugh at 395 and Don Lannan at 392 are in fourth and fifth place.
