First, the history lesson: Five years ago today, Doug Denson and Mark Potts had 34's while the two of them plus Mark Sutton, Terry Butcher and Jack Lents (good for Jack! he was subbing for Jerry Tredway) each had two birdies in their rounds. Dragging in the caboose that day was much improved since then Mark Jones with a 59. Wayne Souerdike, John Foddrill and Tim Voegerl were on top of the Individual standings; Joe Allen and John Foddrill were leading in Team play.
Back to the future: Terry Butcher climbs into the zero handicap league, joining Phil Eyler. Trenton Kidwell, James Hager and Short Jeffers are on the brink each sporting a one handicap. Noah Callahan and Buck Holland are slugging it out for the top spot but there are plenty of lurkers looking for the opportunity to sprint past them. Terry Padgett and Gary Burris remain on top in the Team standings; seems like they have been there a while.
Course conditions: Had some rain yesterday and last night but probably not enough to soften the fairways all that much. Ball is starting to run a bit giving players additional length off the tee. Maybe more birdies and a few eagles today. Anybody got an ace up their sleeve?
And, a final note: expecting fourteen of our newer carts to be delivered today. Same EZ-GO TXT cart though a 2005 model and a different color - champagne. Should be nice.
Update: Oops. No new carts till tomorrow. Dang.
