Time for Tuesday Men to Shine

It's week two of the Team Tournament and lots of teams are in contention for the title. Go here for the leaderboard. Seven teams are within ten points of the top spot which is held by Curt Johnson and Bric Parker (who, btw, were out for a round of golf yesterday afternoon). The Dave Wininger and Dan Steiner team is not one of them - Kent Summers and I subbed for those two last week and left them a hill to climb, some 39 points out of first place. Note: Noah Callahan is still hot: he completed his Community League round last night covering the course in 39 strokes. He's hoping to do as well today; I suggested maybe a 38, a one stroke improvement. And, in case you didn't notice, Phil Eyler got his handicap down to the sterling area, a zero. James Hager, Short Jeffers and Terry Butcher are at one.

A little history: Five years ago, George Templin had eight pars in a round of 36, his only blemish a bogey on #5. Phil Eyler shot a 34 in a round that included two birds and a bogey (at hole #7!). And Wayne Souerdike had three birdies, at holes #2, 5 and 9, in a round of 36. Bill Carrico, our resident roller coaster golfer who very recently shot a 38, brought in the caboose with a horrific 59.
