Bird, Wease, Allen and Byron Win Saturday Scramble
Mike Bird, Tony Wease, Joe Allen and Kevin Byron used the flat stick very effectively and walked to an easy win in the Saturday morning scramble at Lakeview. The team's six birdie and three par scorecard included four putts of ten or more feet. Kevin Byron started it off at #1 by draining a 25 footer. After the team got a short birdie putt on #2, set up by Joe Allen's approach shot to six feet, and tapping in for birdie at #4, Mike Bird slammed home a ten footer at #5 for a birdie. At #6, Joe Allen took his turn with a long putt, rolling one in from twelve feet out. Tony Wease completed the long putting for the day at #8, dropping in one from just off the green, a ball that rolled up the hill for twenty-five feet and then just kind of laid over into the cup from the right side. Two other teams participated: Tracy Rayhill, Roger Blake, Curt Johnson and Morris Cornelius posted a score of four under which included five birdies and a bogey. Larry Hembree, George Templin, Lee Wininger, Ralph O'Malley and Ray Shaw combined for a three under round that included birdies at holes two, four and six. Details here.
