Souerdike, Arvin and Callahan Triumph

Wayne Souerdike, Mike Arvin and Noah Callahan found birdies at two, four, five and six to come in with a four-under round to win the Saturday morning scramble at Lakeview. Six other teams vied for the win with three of them falling one stroke shy and the other two posting one-under rounds.

Lakeview September Golf Challenge

In the Tuesday version of the September Challenge, a three-event game that includes a scramble, an alternate shot and a best ball format, Curt Johnson and Bric Parker shot a nifty net 27.33 to take an early lead on eight other teams of two. Kevin Byron and Junior Byron follow in second, having posted a round almost as good as the leaders, a 27.67. In third is the team of Dave Wininger and Karry Stoll at 28, while Terry Butcher and Rob Sterling hold down fourth, having fired a round of 28.67. In the Thursday version of the same game, Joe Gray and Junior Byron found three birdies during their scramble and are up by three plus strokes on their closest competitors, Kenny Hudson and Ray Shaw, who posted a score of 29.33. Diane Bird and Mike Bird are tied for third place with Patty Bowling and Pam Byron, the two teams each firing rounds of five under par. The September Challenge continues over the next two weeks, with the alternate shot format coming up the week of September 21st, and the best ball the week of September 28th.
