Bits and Pieces for a Monday Morning

-The weather: partly sunny with temps near 50.  Almost nice but, remember, we just got over that long spell of 20's and 30's and white stuff covering the ground.

-Ernie Els wins again on the Big Boy Tour!  Seems like forever since he lofted a trophy above his head.  Remember the last time?  Well, it hasn't been all that long ago - two years - at the Honda Classic.  Good for the Big Easy who has also slipped out of his thirties and is now a forty year old.

-Dave Wininger and I also raised a winning hand as we one the opening scramble in a six-six-six game with Short Jeffers and Doug Denson on the one hand, and Trenton Kidwell and Weston Muessig on the other yesterday afternoon.  Short dropped in a nifty twelve foot putt to tie the alternate shot, and then Dave rolled in a seven footer to tie the best ball segment.  Dave had the hot putter which included a sweet fifteen foot downhill putt on six to win the scramble in dramatic fashion.  Pretty fair golfing by the bunch of us on a not so fair day at Lakeview.

-Barr Reeve won the boys' basketball regional down at Jack's place last Saturday.  Had a pretty easy time of it as Tecumseh offered little opposition in the morning.  Lanesville, who beat NE Dubois earlier, offered a better test for the Vikings but finally succumbed after making too many mistakes.  Lots of photos from around the arena over at Mike's Notes and Pics.

-Get out and smack the ball around - league play is just around the corner.
