Bits and Pieces

-Down at the Honda Classic, Tiger Woods is through five holes and still on the cut line at +1.  He has a birdie and a bogey so far today.  Wouldn't be surprised at another early exit for the guy who lives just down the road from where he's playing.  Doesn't seem to matter whether he gets to sleep in his own bed at night or not. Update:  He's through 8 now and has another birdie.  Even for the tournament.  Would love to see you playing on the weekend, TW.

-Sectional 63 (bracket):  The fireworks start tonight with Barr-Reeve, after pummeling Washington Catholic on Tuesday night, 59-16, taking on Loogootee.  That game starts at 6pm and is followed by the host North Daviess Cougars playing Shoals.  The Cougars whipped up on Vincennes Rivet, 45-27, in the second game last Tuesday.  The #1 Vikings have already beat the Lions this year, winning by three at JBA back on January 14th.  See that there are all sorts of predictions on the Viking-Lion game at the Basketball Digest.  Here's mine:  The Lions move on with a 47-44 win and will face the Cougars for the championship Saturday night.

-Up in Terre Haute tomorrow, the Northeast Dubois Jeeps girls basketball team will try to take down the Fort Wayne Canterbury girls.  Don't think it's going to happen but love the idea of having the 1A trophy down here in the south for the second straight year.

-Up to Bloomington yesterday for a variety of reason.  Did get back in time to play three holes of golf and close up.  Always good to play a bit of golf, don't you think?  Might get in some today with the temperatures in the 60's but a bunch of stormy weather in the area.

-Time for breakfast with Diane.
