Bits and Pieces

-Fun at Doral with all the big guys (The Kid, Westwood, Donald, Woods, Mickelson) all around even par, five or six shots behind the leaders, Scott and Dufner.  Donald the best at -2; Westwood the worst at +4.  TW off to a great start with an eagle at #1 but then plays plus two golf the rest of the way for a par (average) day.  And how about the day Sergio Garcia had!  Five under going out, eight over coming in.  Jeepers.  Wonder what his playing partners (Woods and Whatney) were thinking on the way in?

-Neat photo of The Wie Lass being playful and sexy here.  She's grown into a beautiful woman even if her golf game is not very good, at least for the moment.

-Hoosiers won their game with PSU yesterday, 75-58.  Expect Eric, Colleen and George T. are happy (guess you all knew that George Tempin is a big fan of IU - expect he went to the game yesterday - did you, George?).  Irish survived their Big East match with South Florida in OT, 57-53.  Can advance to the finals for the first time with a win over Louisville.  Syracuse plays Cincy in the other semi-final.  Prediction:  Irish and Syracuse play for the championship.  Also, Hoosiers beat the Badgers.

-More on Lakeview League golfers:  Somebody needs to get Travis Brett and Nick Wininger to play league.  They would both be there in the top ten, at least on gross averages.  Any other locals we need to get in on the race to the top this year?  How about the Kidwell boys, Josh Butcher?  Did you notice from the list that fourteen players had a gross average of 40 point something, including such notables as Jack Butcher, Jeremy Graber, George Templin, Duane Wagler and John Walker?  A shot saved here and there last year would have put them into the sub 40 category.  Can they find a way to get there this year?  Worth a try.   And how about at the very top, anybody able to join Mark Potts in shooting par or better for the season?

-Scramble tomorrow after the Lions take down Evansville Day (they will meet and beat Borden for the regionalchampionship).  Somewhere around 2-2:15, maybe a little later.

-Getting on with the rest of the day.  Golf later (maybe).
