-Tee times and pairings for early rounds at the WGC at Doral. Top three in the world, Rory, Luke and Lee, are paired together and tee off on Thursday at 11:50 am on #10. Tiger, Sergio and Nick (Watney) tee off at 12:40pm at #1.
-Lots of golfers at Lakeview yesterday though none after 5. Played skins and flags with Curt Johnson, Tracy Rayhill and Tony Trambaugh to close up shop. Lots of missed opportunities by the four of us. My flags on #7 and #9 were the difference as we each got a skin apiece.
-Notre Dame women were stymied by the UCONN women in the Big East Tournament championship last night. The Huskies won the battle, 63-54. Very poor shooting by the Irish, both from the floor and from the free throw line. Dang. One good thing: Awfully hard to beat a good team three times in a single season, much more so four times. This loss will give the ND girls a chance to gear up and get serious about the run to the NCAA championship. Expect UCONN will be there somewhere trying to thwart them from going all the way to the top (along with Stanford and Baylor among others).
-Payton Manning cut by the Colts. Oh what a hard cruel world it is. So, where does he end up? Miami? Washington? KC? Washington? SF? Retired? Wherever. Wish him well in whatever he decides to do with the rest of his life. He sure has been good for this part of the country over the last 14 years.
