Wallace and Bird Win Thursday Morning Scramble

Vic Wallace and Mike Bird shot a 34 gross and a 28.67 net to win the Thursday Morning Scramble this week.  The twosome got off to a rough start by bogeying their very first hole, #4, but then birdied the following two holes to get to one under.  Six pars followed including a decisive ten footer from just off the green at #3 to finish.  Junior and Pam Byron claimed second place with a net 29.33 on a 34 gross, while Jack Lents and Ray Shaw took third with a net 30 on a gross 36.  Tony Wease and Dick Lemmon closed out the scoring with a net 31.33 on a gross 37.  Of note:  Vic Wallace is making a habit of winning on Thursdays.  This marks the third Thursday in a row that he has been on the winning team, and the fourth event (he helped Wayne Souerdike and an ailing Jack Nickless secure third place in the September Challenge) where he has been in the winners' circle at the end of the day.
