TMPL Event 16 Recap

Team competition tightened as the playoffs loomed.  Al Kavanaugh and Denny Wagoner took down the leaders, Pam Byron and Patty Bowling, by a score of 10 to 4.  That opened the gates just a little for two other teams to move within shouting distance of the top.  Jack Butcher and Rex Hudson had a stellar day at the golf course, beating up on the hottest team of late, Dane Mosby and Ed Summers, 12 to 2.  They moved to second place at 125 points, 7.5 points behind Byron and Bowling.  Jack Lents and Mike Bird throttled Frank and Susan Fee by a score of 11.5 to 2.5, and moved into third place with a total of 123.5 points.  Dane Mosby and Ed Summers are in fourth at 121 points.

In individual competition, Joe Gray fired a gross 44 and a net 33, claimed 40 points and moved to the top of the standings at 554 points.  He is 12 points up on Jack Lents who shot a 40 with a net 34, and 19 points up on last week's leader, Dick Lemmon, who shot a gross 46 and a net 39.

Low gross score of 36 was posted by both Jack Butcher and Mike Bird while Denny Wagoner had the low net of 27.  Low net team score was posted by the Butcher/Hudson team with a 57.  Hole prizes were claimed by Susan Fee at #7 and Tony Wease at #9 with close to the pin shots, and by Denny Wagoner at #8 with a long putt.  The group's average gross score for the week at 43.47 set a new low for the season.
