Notes on Tuesday Men's League Play

Mike Albertson and Mark Jones went head-to-head with Doug Denson and Buck Holland and came out the other side with a win and the championship of the July Match Play Tournament.  The Denson/Holland team took their only lead at hole #5 but then saw Albertson and Jones take the next three holes.  Mike Albertson's chip in at #8 for birdie proved decisive.

The August Individual Flighted Tournament got underway.  Leaders after the first of four rounds are: Mark Potts in the A+ Flight with a 32; Derek Gilbertson, Junior Byron and Terry Padgett in A Flight with 37's; Terry LaMar in B Flight with a 36; Larry Sutton in C Flight with a 37; Tim Voegerl in D Flight with a 40; and Mike Strawn in E Flight with a 47.

Low scores for this week were posted by Larry Sutton with a 29 for low net score, Mark Potts with a 32 for low gross score, and Brent Courter/Larry Sutton's 62 for low net team score.  Hole prizes were claimed by Greg Potts, Phil Eyler and Charlie Sheetz with close-to-the-pin shots, and Chad Wade, Trenton Kidwell and Tim Voegerl for long putts.  Mark Potts and Warren Atkison got the only two eagles of the day, with Atkison's being a dramatic 176 yard shot at #8.  Curt Johnson and Bric Parker (528 points) got back to the top of the team standings with Doug Denson and Buck Holland (519 points) in second place.  Paul Hart at 1057 points has a comfortable lead of 71 points in the individual competition over second place Mark Jones.  Bric Parker and Rob Rollins are tied for third at 972 points.  Average gross score for the Tuesday Men was 41.57 on the day, up slightly from the 40.72 of a week ago.
