Week 2 of the Flighted Tournament with Byron, Brown, Bateman, Byron and Bateman leading in the various flights.
Of note:
-Looks like if your name started with a 'B', the golf goddess smiled down on you last week. Or at least some of the 'B's'. The B stuff carries over into the regular season competition as well, with four of the top five in the individual standings being of the B variety: Bateman, Brown, Barber and Bird. Al Kavanaugh sitting in fourth is the only 'outsider'.
-One of those B guys got his handicap down to a big zero last week. Haven't seen that for a while in the Thursday League. Congrats to Junior Byron who has been playing some pretty good golf these last few weeks - at least on Thursday morning.
-Mantra for the day, at least for me: Choose the right club, make a good swing. That would be for the golfing part of the day. Don't see any particular carryover to the other parts of the day's activities.
So, come on down, all you Thursday morning golfers. Bring a sweater, at least for the early part of the morning, along with your A game and, of course, a sense of humor.
