Here we go again. Final day of the Individual Flighted Tournament with the closest races in A+ and D Flights where Mike Kidwell and Brent Courter hold very tenuous leads of a single stroke over Dave Wininger and Tim Voegerl, and Mark Potts and Bric Parker only two back. The leaders in the other four flights, Terry Butcher in A Flight, Greg Potts in B Flight, Larry Sutton in C Flight and Mike Strawn in E Flight, enjoy a lager spread but still have to go out there and hit the ball. And, as each of us golfers knows, a lot can happen in the space of nine holes. Actually, a single hole...
Of note:
-One of the leaders in the league was out practicing last night (Curt Johnson); the other was no where to be seen though his daughter Brittany was out with a couple of other young ladies to get in some early evening practice.
-Zero handicappers this week: Mike Kidwell and Doug Denson. Mark Potts gets a stroke from the field this week - first time that has happened in about a gazillion years.
-Guys playing unexpectedly well and seeing the result with low handicaps of 2: Terry LaMar, Rob Rollins.
-The course is still dry even with the inch and a quarter of rain we got last Saturday morning. Expect roll in the fairways and drop and stop on the greens.
-Coming up next week: Two special contests: Closest to the pin shots on both #2 and #7. Extra $1 entry fee on each with the pot going to the winner.
