Bits and Pieces

-Busy times with the three leagues now well started at Lakeview.  The Community League finished up its first week Saturday.

-Summerfest Scramble coming up this Saturday starting at 9am.  Sign up sheet is in the clubhouse and individuals are welcome to put their names down - already have several on the list.  All players are welcome.

-Some pretty good golfing last week at Lakeview especially Mark Potts' three eagles in nine holes on Tuesday.  That's just not done every other week in any neck of the woods.  He's still looking for a score in the 20's; expect he'll have if before the summer is over.

-Jake Divine also had a super week with his best ever (so far) round of 34 last Tuesday and then an ace on Friday.  He was looking to cap it off with a scramble win on Saturday morning but that didn't work out so well.  A week to remember nonetheless.

-Went up to the Loogootee girls' softball game Saturday afternoon.  Been a while since I last saw girls play softball - maybe 25 years; so I was very impressed by the athleticism displayed out there on the field.  Gotta love what Title IX did for women all over these United States.  Too bad the Lions didn't advance, falling to Edinburg, 4-2.  The boy Lions did win their two games and do advance to the semistate.

-Outta here - to town and then to the golf course.
