Going to be a great day for golf so get your stuff together and come on out and have a go at a hole-in-one or two, birdies, pars, and just plain fun.
The guys at the top in everything happens to be the gals. Pam Byron heads into the last nine holes of the Individual Handicapped Tournament with a slim one stroke advantage over Dick Lemmon, four strokes over Wayne Pearl, and five over Jack Lents. Patty Bowling heads up the Individual standings and is also being chased by Dick Lemmon and Jack Lents, the guys currently in the second and third positions. In team play, Pam and Patty have ganged up and at present lead Jack Butcher and Rex Hudson by a slim three points and Dick Barber and John Chapman by five. Things going to change today? Expect they will, somewhere.
The leaders go out against Dane Mosby and Mike Strawn starting at hole #1 in a little bit. Maybe Dane and Mike can rein them in a bit. Course is in great condition and scoring has been easier: fairways are giving a bit of a run, greens are well watered, the rust in our clubs has all been knocked off, and the heat of summer has added limber to our bodies. Sounds like a recipe for a low round. So, come on down, Patty and Pam, leaders of everything in sight, and show us if you can stay on top for the next three hours or so. Just remember, there are a bunch of guys, and at least one other gal, just itching to get a peek at what it's like way up there on top of things.
