Chance of rain this afternoon so pick and choose your playing time. Of course, it may all drift to the west and north of us. The course is in great condition so scoring should be on the easy side. Still got all those creeks out there and #5 still has that pasture to the right but if you hit more or less straight, you shouldn't have any problem. As Darren Clark says, put the ball in the fairway, knock it onto the green and make a putt every now and then - prescription for a good round. And if you're having trouble with your putting, follow Ben Hogan's advise: get the ball closer to the hole on your approach shot. Good stuff, right?
The leaders as the day starts:
-Individual Handicapped Tournament: Tom Walker at -14. Gary LaMar is three back, Kevin Byron and Mitch Jeffers four back, and Kent Summers and Tyler Walton five back. This is the fourth and final week of the tournament.
-Team standings: John Walker and Skip Ackerman with 383 points. Curt Johnson and Tyler Walton second at 364; Tom Walker and the Birdman third at 360.
-Individual standings: Tom Walker at 748 points with Jake Divine at 736 and Dan Jones at 682.
Lots of points to be made out there. All starts with making a good swing and hitting the ball well. Better make a good club selection as well. You do that, the scoring's going to take care of itself. Right? Right. Ok, come on down and have a go at it.
Btw, next week is the mixed league mid season two person scramble. Play with your partner or with any other league member or substitute.
