Another Thursday is upon us and the day is sunny and warm. Best get those clubs in your vehicle, grab a cup of coffee and head to the golf course just north of Loogootee. Here are the guys and gals with the targets on their backs (those holding top positions):
-Pam Byron at -13 leads the Individual Handicapped Tournament.
Patty Bowling with 308 points tops the Individual standings for the regular season.
-Jack Butcher and Rex Hudson are leaders in the Team standings with 73.5 points.
Patty and Pam go out against the field so we all get to take our best shots at knocking them off of their pedestals in the individual competitions. But Junior Byron and Wayne Pearl get to keep an eye on them as they go up against them in the team competition. As for Jack and Rex, they take on Jack Lents and the Birdman, the leaders of the St. Mary's Road gang.
Eric and his boys have the course in tip top shape and the pin placements are no doubt going to be challenging. Our task, on this Thursday while several other more widely known golfers will be teeing it up at the US Open, is to make the circuit in as few strokes as possible and to have a whale of a time in the process. Expect we all can do that whale thingee wherever we might be this morning, but, what the heck, Lakeview Golf Course is where our Thursday morning pals are getting together. Come on down, guys and gals, the show is about to begin.
